How to check Income Tax refund status??

We have filed the Income Tax returns for any Assessment year (AY) and have claimed a refund. But neither did we receive the refund nor we have any news on the same.

Don't worry!! just click on the this link and enter your PAN number and relevant Assessment Year.

If there is no results found, then possibly your Income Tax returns has not been processed by the Income Tax department or processing is done without any refund. Therefore refund banker has no news on the same.

If the result shows that the refund has been credited successfully to your mentioned account details through ECS, then please check your bank statements to a closer dates mentioned on the screen. The amount usually is a bit higher than the amount of refund claimed in the Income Tax return due to the interest component. Generally the bank statements also mentions the PAN number and AY as a narration just besides the amount of refund.

If the result shows that the refund cheque was already dispatched but was returned undelivered from the assessee's  address, then we need to raise a refund reissue request in the Income Tax department's portal. Thank You!
