New PAN card rules will Eliminate the Fake PAN cards:-
The problem of fake and duplicate PAN cards is expected to be eliminated by the new procedures notified by the income tax department.
According to new method, the original documents for Proof of Date of birth, Identity & Address should be shown at facilitation centres. These originals will be returned only after "on the spot verification" by the officers in Facilitation centres, but self attested photocopies of the documents will be taken by them.
The cost of new PAN application will be Rs. 105/- from 3rd February 2014 instead of Rs. 96/-
The Technology systems of Income Tax department will now become robust and error free and will thus prevent people from having multiple PAN cards which was used to evade taxes or create "Benami Properties".
